Dear Community,

 

The City & County of San Francisco in partnership with the San Francisco Unified School District, the SF Alliance of Black School Educators, 100% College Prep, Mo Magic and many other community partners proudly presents the Spring Bi-Annual "Black Family Day" on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 9:30 am - 2:00 pm at Willie L. Brown Middle School (2055 Silver Ave SF).

The day will feature a delicious Southern buffet brunch, a community resource fair for students and families PK-12, student and staff facilitated STEM activities, student performances and a series of workshops focusing on family empowerment and advocacy. There will also be raffles of amazing prizes such as tablets, gift cards and Warrior’s tickets.

This event is free and open to families in SF.  Participants can register by calling (415) 401-2555 ext. 1246 or emailing their contact information and the number in their group to aapac@sfusd.edu. Please share this opportunity with your community.

Aptos Middle School invites you to this session.

FAMILY MONEY NIGHT on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 6pm at Aptos.

Join Aptos parent Bill Rossitto (Financial Advisor, Wells Fargo Bank) and get practical advice on budgets, tips on teaching your student about money (bring your student with you to this presentation!), ideas on handling money in your household, and ask your money questions.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer! Please see the attached list of suggested donations for the upcoming 2016/17 school year. These are suggestions by grade level, not requirements.  If you would like to donate any items on the list to your child's classroom or the main office, please bring them to school on the first day of instruction, Monday, 8/15. Please join us for our last PTA meeting of this school year - Tuesday, 5/17, in the Multipurpose Room. Feel free to bring something for a potluck starting at 5:30pm; the meeting will start at 6pm. Child care will be provided by GLO staff.  Agenda items include:

  • Vote on the PTA Budget for the 2016-17 school year - have a voice in how the PTA will allocate money to support the school!

  • Updates on the Open Schoolyard Program

  • Summer Reading Resources from Ms. Fuerth

  • Upcoming Events and Key Dates for the School

Donate your gently used books! Do you have children or adult books that you're ready to pass on for someone else to enjoy? Please drop them off in the main office now through Friday, 5/13.

We'll be hosting a Book Sale at the Spring Tea Party this Saturday, 5/14, from 2pm-5pm. Please join us for tea & treats, plus welcome new families @ the Multipurpose Room. There will also be a special craft: Paper Flowers. Hats & Tea Party attire encouraged! 

All Book Sale proceeds will benefit our students & school.  Thanks for your support and hope to see you on Saturday!
